Empowering School Owners with Affordable Technology to Transform School and Learning Management

 



EduTAMS Connect 1.0 began a transformative journey with the maiden edition of what will be an annual educative technology workshop for school owners, administrators and educators. This year edition was held between July 2nd to July 16th 2024 in the four divisions of Ogun State, Nigeria with over 5,000 participants from the five venues where the workshops was held.

                                                                            

The topic for discussion at the workshop was "Leveraging Technology to Transform School and Learning Management" showcasing EduTAMS Connect 1.0 is an initiative aimed at empowering school owners with affordable and accessible technology to transform school and learning management. The primary goal is to bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and the digital future, ensuring that every student in Ogun State has access to quality education powered by the latest technological tools.

 

To maximize participation and ease accessibility, EduTAMS Connect 1.0 was strategically organized across the four divisions of Ogun State, allowing school owners and administrators to attend sessions in their locality, making it convenient for them to engage with the insightful presentations from the speakers.

 

The workshop featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including representatives from examination bodies (WAEC), financial institutions (Wema Bank and Globus Bank), accomplished School Owners and Educators. Each speaker brought unique perspectives to the workshop. Dr. Mike Olubiyi emphasized that technology in education helps to standardize teaching and improve learning experiences. At the same time, Chief Babatunde Yinusa highlighted how technology enables parents to stay informed about their child's progress through online portals.

 

Barr. Mrs Akindemowo discussed how digital tools can make learning more interactive, engaging, and tailored to individual student needs. Prof. Ikechukwu Benjamin Ezeohagwu spoke about the transformative power of digital literacy, urging schools to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in a digital world. Dr. Semiu Bello highlighted the role of technology in enhancing teacher training and professional development, ensuring that educators remain at the forefront of educational innovation.
